The Challenge

The ambition was to celebrate loss without nostalgia, capturing the quiet dignity of fading headlines while elevating print as an art form. To do so, it was essential to work with authentic processes: typography was hand-set and printed on original Gutenberg letterpress machines, resulting in tangible textures and imperfections that tell their own story.

The Solution

The design approach embraced material authenticity and symbolic resonance. A muted, monochromatic palette allowed the typographic composition to take center stage, emphasizing the weight of each word and space. Layouts balanced silence and density — echoing both the absence and the noise that once filled these columns.
The result is a deeply human, tactile object that reads like an elegy in print. It not only mourns the decline of traditional journalism but also reaffirms the cultural and emotional value of the printed page in an era of digital overload.
